The Canadian Collegiate Cubing League (CCCL) is a non-profit organization based in Southern Ontario. Originating from the University of Toronto and University of Waterloo Cubing Clubs, the CCCL is an initiative to unite all collegiate cubing clubs in Canada, connect cubers, and promote speedcubing across all participating schools. The CCCL will host events in various formats, including WCA-style, round-robin, and single-elimination, to provide a friendly, competitive environment for all members.

Our primary goal is to connect cubers across Canada and promote a friendly competition environment. We aim to make competitive cubing more accessible to those who want to get involved and, overall, make speedcubing more prevalent across all schools. In the future, we aim to expand our collaboration with more schools, host more competitors, and feature larger-scale competitive activities for more events.

During the regular season, clubs will hold meetings that simulate WCA competition rounds (e.g., the “average of 5” format for the 3×3×3 Cube) to assess the skill levels of everyone who wants to compete. Results will be tracked in a cumulative database that compares everybody’s results. Throughout the term, each competitor will receive a dynamic rating designed by the CCCL and then ranked against other competitors. The qualifying round will follow, with cubers competing in a Swiss-style round-robin to determine seeding for the championship bracket, using a head-to-head format. Lastly, the CCCL championship will feature a knockout tournament in a head-to-head format to crown a winner for one CCCL championship cycle. More details on the format are available here: (insert link).
